How to connect to your hosting with FTP

FTP lets you transfer files with a program such as FileZilla.

  1. In cPanel, open FTP Accounts and create an FTP account, or use your main account details.
  2. In your FTP program enter the host (your domain or the server name from your welcome email), your FTP username and password, and port 21.
  3. Connect and open the public_html folder to upload your website files.

Use a secure option such as FTP over TLS if your program offers it.
